FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS
READY FOR MORE
The Stroud Theatre Arts Performance Company is an audition-only programme for young performers aged 8–16 who want to push themselves further, develop their skills and gain more opportunities to perform.
Based at Alec Reed Academy in Northolt, the company brings together committed young performers to develop across singing, dancing and acting, while rehearsing polished performance pieces for competitions, events and external performance opportunities throughout the year.
It's a chance to work as part of a dedicated company, challenge yourself, build confidence and experience even more of what it means to perform.
DEVELOPING CONFIDENT, VERSATILE PERFORMERS
Performance Company is about taking the skills young performers develop in their regular training and giving them more opportunities to put those skills into practice.
Working across singing, dancing and acting, company members will develop their performance technique, versatility and confidence while learning how to work together as an ensemble.
Training and rehearsals will focus on areas including:
Performance technique • Singing & harmonies • Dance • Acting • Stagecraft • Musicality • Ensemble work • Confidence • Versatility
Students will be encouraged to challenge themselves, try new styles and develop into confident, adaptable performers.
And while we take the training seriously, enjoying the experience matters too. Performance Company is designed to be ambitious, exciting and a brilliant opportunity to perform alongside other young people who love theatre as much as you do.
Taking performance beyond the classroom, with more opportunities to perform, more experiences to learn from and more chances to grow in confidence on stage.
TRAINING & PERFORMANCE
Our weekly musical theatre classes and Performance Company have different purposes, but they work hand in hand.
Weekly STA classes provide the essential training young performers need to continually develop their singing, dancing and acting. They build technique, confidence, stagecraft and the foundations of becoming a versatile performer.
Performance Company is an additional opportunity for committed performers to put those skills into practice, working together as a company to rehearse polished pieces and perform at external events, competitions and venues.
Performance Company is designed to complement regular performing arts training, not replace it.

GOT QUESTIONS?
-
No, previous professional experience isn’t required. However, Performance Company is designed for young performers who already have some stage experience and are actively training in dance, singing and drama.
Professional experience is certainly welcomed, and around 50% of our current Performance Company members have already worked professionally, but it isn’t essential. What matters most is that students have a good foundation of training, are confident performing on stage and are ready to take on the additional challenge and opportunities that come with being part of the company.
